Answers to the most common questions about buying, selling, and using BrickCapital.
How does escrow protection work?
When you buy an item, your payment is held by BrickCapital rather than sent directly to the seller. Funds are released to the seller when you confirm the item arrived as described, or automatically 72 hours after delivery is verified — whichever comes first. If there's a problem, open a dispute before then and the funds stay held while our team reviews it.
How do I know a seller is trustworthy?
Look for the "Top Rated" badge (shown on sellers with a 4.8★ or higher rating), the seller rating, and sales history on any listing or seller profile. Every seller who can accept orders has also completed Stripe's secure identity and payout verification. Response-time and shipping-time signals (shown on seller pages) reflect how reliably that seller has handled past orders.
What if my item never arrives?
Open a dispute from your Purchases tab. BrickCapital will review the tracking information and communication history, and can refund your escrowed payment if the item wasn't delivered.
How are seller fees calculated?
BrickCapital charges a 10% marketplace fee on the item price, plus standard payment processing (2.9% + $0.30). Both are shown before you publish a listing and again at checkout — there are no hidden charges added afterward. Shipping you charge the buyer isn't part of the marketplace fee.
How does Market Intelligence get its data?
Market Intelligence estimates are generated from real market research and available evidence — recent sales and asking prices from marketplaces and price guides — and each report shows its confidence level. For sets, the 1–100 Market Score blends weighted factors (price appreciation, collector demand, scarcity, sales activity, retirement signal, and minifigure importance). Minifigures are valued the same way, from their own market evidence. See the methodology note on the Market Intelligence page for full detail.
Can I sell internationally?
Yes. BrickCapital supports shipping to 34 countries across North America, the UK, and the EU/EFTA. Sellers set their own rates per shipping zone (domestic, North America, UK, EU) in their shipping profile, and buyers see the exact shipping cost at checkout. Orders to destinations a seller doesn't ship to are declined automatically. Any import duties or VAT charged by the buyer's country are the buyer's responsibility — BrickCapital doesn't calculate or collect them.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Account → Settings → Security. Closing your account removes your public profile and listings; completed order history is retained for legal and dispute purposes.
